I have heard the work of Mr Pratchett described as “relentlessly funny”. By a friend of his. He didn’t argue about it.
I find another joke per chapter (at least) every time I read his books
I have a question for them as knows more than I do
I know that You Bastard (camel) thinks he is the second greatest mathematician after Bloody Stupid (camel from Tsort)
WHERE did that knowledge come from?
Not sure I understand the question, Twellsy? How does You Bastard know about the Tsortian camel? Or something else?
My copy of Pyramids was lent and did not return, so working from memory.
I remember it was something You Bastard was mulling over while eating his lunch for the third time in his stall when Teppic persuaded him to move at speed carrying Teppic and Ptraci
Who knows how camels communicate?
I gave mine away (along with all the other signed Pratchett hardbacks I’d got) to someone who would enjoy them more than I did, and was utterly blown away by the present. Yes, well, he was fourteen at the time.
What a handsome gift Fishy
Our tastes diverge on Pratchett, dear Fish. I can imagine how thrilled that 14-y-o boy must have been. I am also fairly confident that I get different things out of the books than do 14-year-old boys in general.
I disliked the last few books - Unseen Academicals onward, with the exception of I Shall Wear Midnight - but there’s a good reason for that ;- ( Soldiered on out of some weird loyalty, though.
I tried to enjoy Pratchett’s writing but it just didn’t w#rk for me, so I don’t ‘get’ references to his novels. It doesn’t matter, at all - I don’t have to understand everything in life. (Just as well.)
Walkies today involved hailstones on speed and we were jolly glad to return home. It was still worth the effort (bluddy freezing, winge, moan).

The hail reached as far south as Oxfordshire, according the RAF Benson weather report, but not here. Ah well.

I think some people saw the flooding at Hebden Bridge as being God’s Curse On Sinners.
I do wonder what this Cornholme resident feels is pornographic, though. And did they read it to make sure?
Several times, just to be certain…
Check the page turning clues, I’d say.

I am always somewhat surprised by the way the “more holy than godly “ can sniff out sun
Surely they should not be able to recognise it?
