So, who wants to help ... to instaurate the cellar?

I have a boring, but safe box filled with plastic ‘reeds’ so the knives can go in anywhere

It has rained all day, & the light, & air pressure are most peculiar.

Meatballs done in the oven with homemade Martyr sauce here, & possibly linguine

That we have much in common, for one thing ;- ) It’s eminently wantable. Though the Ex is good too.

I like both TFM’s and the ex as knife blocks

But I have a large amount of knives and would need several empty knife blocks

To supplement my magnetic strips that are ideal for metal knives

My ceramic knives live in a jar

Do you not have politicians in your neck of the woods, Twellsy? Reuse, Recycle & all that jazz…

BiL had 2 wooden knife blocks with knives, until I persuaded him to get rid of one ‘cos the knives were Shite.
I don’t like the blocks because 9 times out of 10, only the original knives will fit, & you can’ t clean them properly.

I haven’t got any ceramic knives.

A paring knife is the one I use the most, & that is always fairly traumatic to replace, as one does get used to certain things.

The meatballs were lovely, & I thing that I will save the 2nd portion for Monday, when I won’t feel much like cooking.

Spotty blades? Bit risky, that, I would have thought ;- ). Oh, I get you. Hidin’ in plain sight, that sort of fing.

Useful for findin’ 'em in the dark, that.

Adds kitchen drawer to the list of things to sort out, although the knives are kept sharp, & stored safely…

We have two le creuset casserole dishes. One is very large and should be ideal for cooking for lots of people, or large quantities for the freezer, but it hasn’t been used for years because it is just too damn heavy - I can’t lift it out of the oven at all when it’s full, and TFD hurt his shoulder last time he used it. It should be rehomed, ideally, but neither of us feels able to part with it.

Not the 6.7l? That one is indeed a monster.

I have 1 Le Creuset lookey-likey which can, & does take a whole chicken, but, as you say, is very very heavy.
A friend had the complete set of saucepans, & had to give them away, as she wasn’t well enuff to lift them when they were empty.

I knew someone who couldn’t bear to part with her monstrously heavy Le Creuset casserole dish, so she repurposed it and planted bulbs in it every spring, and I forget what later in the year.

I also have a Runn casserole dish which is German - cast aluminium with a granite non stick layer

Light and gi-flipping - normous

Makes one wonder about German cuisine!

Do they do catering en masse?
