Thanks for sharing, joe.

DS gave me some violet gin for my bd, mind you, and I like it a lot. His rather waspish comment that at least it can’t taste of sweaty armpits (which is how I described his gift of Ophir - I’d forgotten it was he) stung, a bit.

I had some delicious Violet Vodka as a gift, once.
I have had very nice Lemon Vodka too, but almost threw up in the shop* when given Salted Caramel Vodka to try.

NDN has cut the privet hedge at the front of the house. This means that it will be easier for me to get the car out/into the garage.

Violet used subtly is a good seasoning ingredient

Some tastes are better not being made!

I have had a small Victory.

As I may have mentioned, I dropped The Best Onion Knife In The World (circa 1907, a present to my mother from Annie-the-Cook when her childhood home was broken up during the War) onto the kitchen floor, whereupon the handle broke off about two inches from the blade. It cannot be glued securely, and I mourned its loss.

Today I took one of the two old Ivorine-handled table knives, which are roughly the same shape and size and had been kept for icing cakes with, and sharpened it. I now have a very thin, sharp knife suitable for cutting onions.

Yay me!

I suppose it’s useful to know what to bait one’s traps with to catch the Modern Tart.
