Have just heard that Darling GS is flying home from Jordan on Monday. They have a completely self-contained annexe in Bude, so he will go straight into quarantine there.

He will be going back, but am not sure when.

I love the shawl pattern, Fishy. Most ingenious, and looks gorgeous.

Meanwhile, I have been reminded of the usefulness of stitch markers in a 42 stitch pattern repeat.

Why is it that when you get almost to the end of the first row of such a pattern, you never, ever have the correct number of stitches left? It is always just one stitch out, in my experience.

Huh. I had that for several rounds; just one out in the round, and always the last but oneā€¦

Dear Chatelaine

The fabric is being treasured and pampered

The main problem was my measurements

I had carefully measured the front of the skirt and the frill for that length then realising that I needed to make another frill for the back

Great care has been taken over the fabric and the skirt is looking good thus far
