That Poodle belongs to the other one, Twellsy. DS will be leaving his particularly scratchy, bitey Cat at home.

Is said cat called Hilda perchance?

It’s still going to be nice to see your larva

Hah! The Cat is called Ruby and she’s a very beautiful calico. DS was asked to look after her, for a while, by a friend whose other Cat had been bullying Ruby. Two years later, she’s going nowhere.

I hope you cope with the new supermarket. I’ll be going walkies, soon.

Proffers can-apes of smoked mackerel pâté on crisp, thickly buttered, thin toast.

I need a little summat for me noives. I like thunderstorms, but one clap (seemingly directly overhead, about 10ft above the house) frightened even me.

So that is three cats called Ruby in one small group of people. I had only known the name on a horse…

But I’m sure there are also people called Ruby. Emerald, Sapphire, Diamond, Topaz, Amethyst? Garnet, Beryl, Jasper, Pearl, Amber, Jade and Opal I have met.

(Topaz is in I Capture the Castle, and Diamond in At the Back of the North Wind, but I haven’t encountered them anywhere else.)

The Ma’s cat was called Ruby when she acquired her. Renamed to Ebony.

ETA: there are quite a few bipedal Jaspers with recent number plates.
