I’ve had a look in Beaconsfield, but no luck. Much more likely to be foofy coffee. Maybe if you get further into the back streets; I’ll give it another go some time.
mail order? I beg my pardon? Online purchase, I meant.
We have the Local Cheese Man, whom we can track down at various markets (most easily in Chesham on a Wednesday). He’s better on hard cheeses than on soft, mind.
We are lucky enough to have RP Davidson , Cheese Factor in Chesterfield & there is a family run Italian Deli on the edge of the town
There used to be a Deli Stall in the Indoor Market which was run by Poles. Italians took over when the family retired, but it didn’t last long
I am going to stay with BiL tomorrow afternoon, & will be back on Sunday or Monday

It can easily last many weeks. Worth it just as a one off.
Not when there is a hungry sparrer in the house.
Sunny day & I am orf to a beer festival.
yardarm
Wanna beer festival to go to!
I can hear a ‘peeping’ sound
Not Tseeping
I will have to change the batteries in the smoke alarms
Sunny & breezy here

We now check the parrot before we look at alarms of any stripe in the hovel!
She adores seeing us react to the beeps and squeals of assorted alarms
How does one change the batteries in a parrot?
One carefully feeds a parrot
And cares for her and shares wine with her
She sits on my shoulder and sticks her head into my wineglass and holds the stem in her claw whilst she slurps wine
I did NOT teach her this!!!
Of course you didn’t, dahlink. A friend of mine had a dipsomaniac budgie which lived to a (for a budger, anyway) remarkable age, despite falling into winglasses from time to time.
Could do with falling into one myself, tbh.
If it were tseeping, it would mean “not enough smoke” & could be fixed wivvan Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier.
Wot there was none of at the beer festival, Plenty of other luvverly beer tho.
Very disappointing.
What was the luvverliest of the others?
Mallard Mild, Thames Side Brewery. I could have drunk it all day, if there hadn’t been lots of other delicious beers to try (and if they hadn’t run out).
Carbonara and pizza made today (joint effort, I hasten to add). Can wholeheartedly endorse the balsamic vinegar recommendation. If you can find it, it’s Devilla, which seems to be a fairly major producer and exporter of Italian ingredients. Think they started out as a mill, producing flour and pasta, and diversified. anyway, the vinegar is very dark and quite sweet. Made a lovely dressing.
Usseful to know, joe, so ta.
What was on your pizza?
Today we bought a pomegranate-flavoured balsamic vinegar. It tasted fab with fresh strawberries and blueberries.
Another glorious day in Perthshire. We visited Bolfracks gardens and Glen Lyons. Mr Soo has promised that Squirrel Antics will be available for all to view, soon.

Flavoured balsamic vinegars is an unexplored area for me. But it’s not incest or folk-dancing, so aye, I shall look out for opportunities.
Pekmezes (pekmezzes? ), now those are useful beasts to have in the armoury. Start with the pomegranate molasses (makes fantastic salad dressings) and go on from there. They do tend to make the cupboard shelf very sticky indeed, no matter how careful you delude yourself you might have been. And if anyone wants me slow-cooked lamb wiv pomegranate molasses recipe, well, I am open to what the offsprog thought was ‘library and corruption’
