There’s a bit of snow left here, but I reckon it’ll be gone by the end of today except in tiny patches, and we’ll probably have some rain moving in overnight. Freezing and a little ice towards the end of the week, but probably ner mer sner for a bit.

It’s grey and mizzling, here. Maybe it’ll wash the sner away.

Have just enjoyed some lovely chicken soup. Not home-made (not much chance ovva chicken carcase round these parts) but Yorkshire Provender variety, bought in Tesco. For dessert I have had asparagus spears, dipped in mayonnaise. Given that I have also been eying up the sprouts, I think that an iron supplement may be in order. Fortunately, I have such things.

That sounds delightfully decadent, Soo

The last 2 chickens I bought were the ready-roasted variety on the yellow sticker shelf. I took some of the meat off, & then poached them , giving me both stock & lovely moist chicken for either soup or pies.

So long as it’s not the Helen Archer Patent IV variety…

Mr Bee, azz you know, izz a bit averse to meaty smells, so the Christmas chicken carcase went in the bin. MiL used to take our CCCs home and would make sure to send me some of the soup she made via Mr Bee. He said she largely tutted at him, on these occasions.
