“rar i am a DINOSAUR”
And she bluddy knows it. Love that bird.

In case anyone missed this:
Somebody has caught that; it now reads Scientists have announced the discovery of a perfectly preserved dinosaur embryo that was preparing to hatch from its egg, just like a chicken.
I still can’t be quite sure what would be wrong with “as birds do today”, though.
Or indeed “as dinosaurs do today”. [beaky grin]
Have just been hearing about a mysterious creature called a “water sheep”, references to which were most perplexing to the team of engineers who encountered them.
Context eventually led to the realisation that they were referring to a “hydraulic ram”
You couldn’t make it up, Joe…

“Put that water sheep down!”
Isn’t water sheep a Chinese year?
In fact my brother, born 6th January 1944, is a water sheep! But only in north China; in the south he is a water goat. I bet he doesn’t know.
I’m rather fond of something “plunging new depths”.
And coming back with a watch, a strand of seaweed, and a compact folding umbrella?
Welcome to The Degeneration Game
Numpties. Can an idea be a numpty, or is it only for foolish individuals? I have never heard it applied to an idea before today’s script.
Nor I – definitely applied to a person. An idea could be “numptyish” I suppose. Probably Scots usage originally.
Numpty is Scottish, yes.
Itizz, indeed.

Apparently you reap what you sew.
Sounds as if Our Chatelaine should have a rather superior life!
cf ‘low and behold’: that’s yer basic coo staring over a gate scenario, to my mind.
Oh, and another thing - when did ‘snobbish’ become ‘snobby’? It always strikes me as sounding rather infantile (or should that be ‘childy’?)
At some point between 1933 (it is not in the 1933 SOD) and 1988 (it is in the 1988 Chambers).
Oh, ooops; “snobby” is also in the 1926 Chambers. It may be that it’s standard Scottish usage.
