She was known to have come into town to go to a demonstration because she made no secret of it; she had earlier been involved in at least two incidents of disorderly behaviour as well as being on a march which tried to walk straight through all the local covid regulations about not getting together in groups of more than two at a time and been warned to cease and desist. Then they found her still hanging about like a bad smell so they tried to get her details to issue an official warning and a fine (a bit like a parking fine, done by post later), and when she refused to give those they finally arrested her. It really wasn’t “ee, 'ere’s a stranger, let’s throw the book a her” – she’d been trying to get arrested so she could be a martyr for several hours, as far as I can make out.
Nice to see the Police’s side getting put over
In Tesco, today (I was and it wasn’t very nice) I asked the woman on checkout how she was doing. Not very well, it seems, as the inconsiderate behaviour of some customers is starting to frighten her. She looks after her aged Pa and is very worried about taking Covid back to him, after w#rk. I’d not be surprised if she went ‘off sick’ and wouldn’t blame her. Oh - I think that children should either be wearing a face covering, stay quiet, not run around or be left at home with one of the two guardians shopping alongside (sometimes) them.
Izzit gin o’clock, yet?

Oh, there have been plenty of instances of them enforcing their idea of what the law is rather than the actual law, Twellsy.
Can they not be tethered to the railings outside? Except that might upset the dogs, I suppose.
I am usually, some might say habitually, supportive of children, but there are limits to my tolerance I have discovered. Ugh.

Cruelty to free-ranging wolves.
Did we not mention the wolves? Oh, right, that was meant to be a surprise.
Sometimes, you don’t want to be a world leader…

Oh Ferk, Joe
The News at teatime was reporting shortages of oxygen in Southern parts…
Sigh

“Mr Martin told Newstalk radio that he did not accept the Government had sent out mixed messages in the run up to Christmas…”
True - there were no mixed messages. They were consistently wrong.
“…and he believed it had acted responsibly at all times in responding to the challenges posed by the virus.”
If by that he means that the government’s actions are responsible for the infection rate spiralling out of control, then I might agree.
I am so sorry to read this, joe.

Just be thankful you’re only reading it online. This is not good news for the likes of Twellsy.
Not any shortage of oxygen, I don’t think; but the piping can’t support demand ward-side. Effect is the same, I guess.
No, it’s not.

The staff were being asked to reduce it. I was so busy shouting at the time, that I didn’t catch it all. Orff to look

I’m surprised patients weren’t asked to stop breathing.
On the other hand, I am not in the slightest bit surprised that the infrastructure of even quite modern hospitals was not engineered to support demand from multiple wards delivering high-level CPAP therapy to most or all patients. What can the staff realistically do in this situation, without a time machine?
I have some thoughts, but initial consumer testing suggests they would not be well received.
I have found it, it was from The Guardian & it mentioned Southend Orsepiddle specifically
I can’t , of course,do LinkyDoodahs

Sarfend. Lower down it does indicate that the piping is the problem rather than supply per se.
Well,as you say , no-one expected to have to deal with this
