So, who wants to help ... to cower in the cellar?

Will shortly be wrangling curtain hooks

I may need another Medicinal…

I am happily hammocking

And watching the bbq light
Spatchcock spicy chicken will be served with salads and brioche rolls

Curtain hooks are the spawn of Phil (Satan’s less successful little brother).

Sitting watching many varieties of bird enjoy the seed we brought. Squirrels are lazily scoffing dropped seed and ignoring our Premium Grade Peanuts. Have seen deer, a hare, many waterfowl and much more, during our day out. The bluebells are fab and multitudinous:

The hooks are the old-fashioned variety, but in metal. The job is made all the more awkward by the ancient curtain rail being topped by a ‘boxed’ pelmet

Never got round to replacing it

Anyhoo

The curtains are back up & I am going to sit down forrabit

I have reached the point with curtains (the ones we still have) at which I think it might be easier to take down the whole thing, put the curtains onto the rail on a table or something, and then hang the whole lot up again together. Heavy, but less fiddly!

Yerss, that would be the best , but I can’t do it with these particular ancient fixings & also would find it difficult to do on my own

I solved the problem with curtains by not having them

We are remote enough that our privacy is not compromised

I would be entertaining Severial Neighbours if I did that, Twellsy…:joy:

It’s my bedroom & there is either a lace or voile curtain too

Yes when we lived in a house in a wee village we had curtains but here we have no need for them

The only thing that might be surprised by us is the wildlife

It is very difficult to shock a badger. They’ve seen it all.

You don’t do complete darkness though, Twellsy

I have a friend who cannot sleep if there’s the merest chink of light in the room.

She has blackout blinds & curtains

I am hopeless in the dark as I lose what vision I have

Sounds as if there might be a market for teams of trained Curtain Monkeys. PETA might kick up a stink, but I feel the idea is worth exploring.

You didn’t really do dark before your eyes got so bad though, Twellsy

It’s difficult to get the right level, isn’t it ?

It’s much lighter & brighter at the caravan
