So, who wants to help ... to frivol in the cellar? (Part 1)

I gather that the bed is for intensive rehab and a bit of a hen’s tooth and definitely not a care for geriatric old :bat:

I will report back manana

If the beeping machines shut up long enough to let me sleep

Ta, and bottoms up, Darling. Something settlin’ for me, I think: the fried potatoes were both very good and A Mistake.
Hope the painkiller fulfils its mission. Sleep well. Or basically, just bloody sleep for a change;- )

Well if you don’t need the rest of those fried potatoes…

Are we all cooking ‘unsuitable’ food in the middle of the Bluddy night then?

It’s only unsuitable if you don’t want to eat it.

True, O Dunnock

I managed to restrain myself.

I have noticed that you have been around during ‘unFishly’ hours. Are you trying to walk-off the pain?

I save 1 of my 2 heavy-duty painkillers for the midnight hour, unless there’s an Medicinal in the offing…

Walking does ease it considerably. I noticed that by the end of each day it was a lot less vile, and extrapolated. Since lying in bed feeling sorry for myself is futile anyway, I don’t lose anything by doing so.

I am lying in bed and enjoyed a lightly curried butter nut squash soup for lunch

It was rather good and proves that catering for the halt and lame can be done with flavour to tempt you with wholesome food

I have to spend a lot of time lying on my back (stoppit), so deploy the various Pillocks according to how I feel, & to keep me reasonably aligned.

If I haven’t got the foot of my bed raised, I use a memory foam half cylinder behind my knees to support them & stop the ‘dragging’ sensation.

Lying on my back actively peeves the sciatic nerve, I discovered, so I use a pillow to help my leg stay in a not-too-horrid position, but of course when I move in my sleep it tends to be dislodged and then I wake up saying Ow. The whole thing is a blasted nuisance.

Yes, itizz. I have left-sided sciatic pain and find that lying on the right and bending my left knee, pulling that leg up as far as I can manage, really does help. Or else, unlike for you, Dear Fish, lying on my back does stop the pain.

We’ve visited a Donkey Sanctuary, today, and had a grand pub supper. Embra, tomorrow.

I am wondering if it’s possible to have gin delivered

Before I rip the alarums and call bells wiring out of the building

This would be a shame as it’s a really nice new ward that still smells of new paint

Today’s moan over

If it’s a good new building, gin should be on the green tap.

Otherwise, [flappity][flappity][flappity][flappity]…

You have a right to moan, Twellsy.

Oh, look what’s flappitied to your aid! Wash those Good Tablets down with this latest delivery.
