The friend in question used to have a market stall where he sold pickles and preserves using things he grew himself

As a cash crop he sold bunches of narcissi for 2 euro and a bunch was 20 flowers

He has retired but still has the bulbs popping up every spring

You get a load of daffs on a 5 acre site

And I have permission to help with the dead heading (cutting gorgeous blooms!) any time as he has thousands and thousands

It looks lovely under the cider apple trees with hosts of narcissi

ETA I also was given 2 grams of saffron that my friend’s friend had brought from Spain after my friend had told of a pilau rice I had served one evening
