So, who wants to help ... to instaurate the cellar?

My raspberries well watered now

The rain was just delayed

[yawnity] Tseep!

Not raining yet here, but they’re promising us a thunderstorm later.

The ground is wet but I didn’t notice it happening, and the sun is now shining.

Lashing it down here. No thunder.

You was cheated!

They do keep promising us thunder and not delivering.

Clearly what I need is a Wimshurst machine and, just to cover all my bases, a comprehensive automated blasphemer programmed with ways to be offensive about all the world’s religions.

I can be offensive but until a lightning proof suit is available I won’t bother the deities

Slightly baggy armour might work as a personal Faraday Cage ( check your insurance first, though, dere)

Any armour here has rusted in pieces long since

Anyway anyone employing me as a god offender should provide protective wear

Morning all, GLO has reappeared in Peet’s.

We are meeting Mr Janie’s brother and his wife today in our garden, first event of that nature since before the winter, great excitement! We are all vaccinated, first dose only, a minimum of five weeks. Somewhat reassuring, but do I let them indoors if it gets a bit on the nippy side? Or maybe just let them go home!

Excellent news re GLO. Ta.

Hurrah for a bit of socialising! I’d be inclined to let them indoors if necessary, assuming that they have not been in contact with masses of people themselves.
Hope you all have a splendid time.

Hurrah! about GLO. Any reason for his vanishing?

I shall cross my fingers for a fine afternoon for you, but on the whole I’d let them indoors if anyone starts to shiver; it seems likely that they are not infectious and nor are you.

I broke the rules re social distancing today en route to Lidl

Just 100 yards from our gate we met B walking her puppy

I had to get out and stroke the puppy - a springer spaniel wit bitsa terrier cross

She is a darling wee pup and B lets me share the joy a pup brings
Then in Lidl I was stopped by a lady admiring the jacket/waistcoat B made me
So I will give B a call and make her day by telling her that her work is admired

He got locked out of Peets, apparently.

Coat, possibly blanket, & deffo umbrella would be needed here, today, TFM

I have sat outside in minus degrees, but a dry cold is a lot easier to deal with than the damp sort wiv added wind

Thanks for the replies. Blast, that means I need to vacuum the downstairs.

No gain without pain?

Vacuuming (downstairs only) is done. Weather is looking good. It will 20°C till 7PM and sunny, though no sun in our backyard at that hour. After that, it gets a degree cooler. I’ll take pity if they’re cold, but I won’t rush to usher them indoors. That risks adding a couple more hours to the event and I expect to find it tiring. We’re not used to company, after all, any of us, are we? Next task is green bean and tomato salad.

Oooh! Is that the one with the mustardy dressing?

Wot, and waste the vacuuming frenzy?

I fear that vacuuming is never entirely wasted. If nothing else, it raises the three-second rule to four, and without fluff.
